  1. Congratulations! God bless you over the next couple days and weeks and months as you all adjust to the newest member being home! 🙂

  2. Yay! I was wondering when you were going to give birth! What a beautiful birthday for her. Congratulations and I really enjoy reading your blog.

  3. Congratulations to you and your family! I would be tempted to try to work the feast day into a nickname or some such – but I’m Mexican, so there’s that.
Welcome to the world, Benedicta Maribel! Lovely name for a lovely baby.
    Rest up, Mama!

  4. All babies are beautiful, Mrs. Fischer, but this one is especially lovely. Enjoy your day wrapped in heated blankets and eating food you didn’t cook. I love her name and she was born on the perfect day! Heartfelt congratulations.

  5. Hope you got those heated blankets! If I lived nearby I would definitely bring you some food you didn’t have to cook. Congratulations and many, many blessings!

  6. She looks like heaven…Ohhhhh what a blessing. I suspect she is named after an epic, Carmelite saint???? 🙂 8 lbs 14 oz ouch. You’re a hero!

  7. Oh, what a beauty! And a beautiful name to suit her. God bless you with peace and serenity for at least a few days! 🙂

  8. Joyous congratulations, Simcha! We had our “blessing” last February and gave him the name Benedikt. May you and your family continue to be abundantly blessed!

  9. WHAT???? you mean, this is the only post your hungry fans will get today? and all on account of a pretty average sized baby . . . don’t know what mothers are coming to these days

  10. Congratulations!! I just had my third on Sunday. I think we had the same due date. Glad to hear you are doing well, we will you keep you in our prayers and please keep us in yours.

  11. Congratulations Simcha — can’t believe you actually found time to post 🙂 And what a beautiful name too… maybe she could be called Beni for short?

  12. The first baby born on Immaculate Conception! You win a lifetime supply of Miraculous Medals, don’t you? Congrats!

  13. Congratulations! Beautiful baby, beautiful name. I have a friend named Maribel and I find myself finding excuses to mention her in conversation just so I can say her name.

  14. Congrats to the whole Fisher Family! She is adorable and what a wonderful birthday she has. Enjoy your new addition to your family. God Bless! 🙂

  15. “You know, Mrs. Fisher, all babies are beautiful, but this one is really something special. [I wish I could send you some food] that you didn’t cook, and when you’re done, you really must take a nap.”
Welcome, Benedicta Maribel! Nice job, Simcha! May Our Lady wrap you all in her warm, warm, mantle!

  16. Praise God! What a beautiful baby! I’ve been praying for a quick and (relatively) easy delivery for you every time that I’ve thought of you, which included yesterday. Now I’ll start praying for a smooth and peaceful transition, and for children who respond the first time you call their names…:)

  17. I had a feeling this was happening yesterday….
I hope you are feeling well. Are those forceps marks on this lovely little soundly sleeping bambina? I hope things were not too difficult for you, but thank God you have made it through to the end and little Benedicta is here. Cute name but I keep thinking of that photo of Edith Stein at her profession and how beautiful she was..what a truly great intercessor she will be for this little one!
Sleep well, Simcha, you have earned it and then some.

  18. Congratulations Simcha et al! Not that I’m religious or against birth-control or anything, but babies are good folk, y’know? And any baby being raised to know right from Kinkade is bound to turn out alright. Hope you find some sleep in the next ten years or so. 😉

  19. Beautiful baby; beautiful name; beautiful blessing! Congratulations to the whole family and double blessings on you Mom.
May Benedicta start sleeping right through the night soon!

  20. What a wonderful birthday to have!!! Congrats to the Fisher family on their new baby!!! And Congrats to you Simcha, you don’t have to make dinner for the next few days (if you’re really lucky, the next few weeks!) That’s my favorite part about having another baby!!! J/K (sorta)

  21. I’m feeling smug: your Benedicta a December child, like me. 🙂

Seriously, many blessings on the birth of this beautiful child. I know her brilliant protectress, Benedicta, will ask Our Lord to bless your little one with wisdom and grace.

  22. Absolutely gorgeous name… and oh my gosh, we get a mini-Simcha! Can’t wait to see what this one’s blog is like 😛
