Hey, middle your week off right

. . . with this footage from Turkish TV. Apparently they accidentally aired the unfinished footage, instead of the version with finished visual effect:

WHY DON’T WE HAVE SHOWS LIKE THIS IN AMERICA?  WHY CAN’T WE HAVE NICE THINGS?

  1. I think U.S. T.V. focuses more on style over substance. Visuals, no pun intended, are what U.S. directors focus on. Acting and writing, as anyone will notice, have a low priority. Film and T.V. directors, in fact, do not direct actors in the performances as in a theater. I know it is good to trust actors, but sometimes, as Reagan said, trust, but verify. But I have seen bad acting and bad visuals on Turkish T.V. via the internet.

  2. The fire and demons didn’t seem that scary. But when the pudgy green men were nonchalantly chaining the old man to a telephone pole, I couldn’t watch anymore. Terrifying.

  3. You’ve obviously never worked in NYC, Simcha. This is ordinary fare on the R-line. I’m sad to say I’ve even witnessed scenes like this played out in boardrooms. What I would really like to rehearse is the mountaintop scene from “The Sound of Music.” That’s a seat I would invest in. Climb every mountain!
