Tired Pride

Hello, new readers!  I’m really glad you stopped by.  You’ll have to take my word for it, just like when the lady from church came by with two homemade casseroles, toys for the kids, a tin of cookies, and a baby present . . . only to see that the kids were watching Curious George and using markers to decorate their naked torsos while I cruised Facebook while eating refried beans straight out of the can.  Which is to say, I’m really glad to see you!  But, heh heh, if I’d have known you were coming, I would have, heh heh, fixed the place up a little. . .

Well, at least we can all be glad that when I was writing this post last night, I came within three seconds of including a photo of the 2011 Furry Pride Parade — but decided to go to bed, instead.  Hooray!

  1. I am a new reader and know you have just had a baby. I am being patient because I can tell I like you already and new babies take a couple months to get used to. You need not apologize to me. Anyway, what l have read has been great. I can’t wait to read after you’ve put the launch and vacuumed.

  2. I’m amazed you can eat refried beans when nursing. They usually make babies need a double dose of Mylicon. And even then…ouch.

  3. I had to giggle because when I went to read “the piece” you were working on that was similar to a Facebook one, I saw that the thing that had been passed along in my crowd, was YOURS. Yep. And I loved it.

You are a true wordsmith and so often you speak to me; here are my favorite of your words from that piece:

“When I had only one child, she was so heavy. Now I can see that children are as light as air. They float past you, nudging against you like balloons as they ascend.”

    Amen. Thank you!
