Oh this is so true. I have volunteered at crisis pregnancy centers for years, and I was always deeply uncomfortable with the mandatory praying. I have always attributed that to the fact that I was the only Catholic around working with Protestants, and they are far more comfortable with spontaneous prayer with strangers. I am NOT. Your reasoning resonates deeply with me. Though now that I think of it, I bet the truly lovely Protestant ladies I worked with have also warmly and politely forced rich people to pray, and often.
